Researchers' Night

Next weekend the lab doors re-open again, the researchers take off the white mantle, and show the science to the laymen. On Researchers' Night we can play, create, cook, and music together with scientists.

Researchers' Night is held on the last Friday of September in the whole Europe with the aim of changing the general picture thought abought researchers and to present the actual results of each discipline in an entertaining way. Experiments, laser show and star party await visitors on September 26 in the country's education institutions and research institutes. The lectures are usually in Hungarian, but organizers marked the programs recommended for foreigners with a specific icon. Here come our favorites from the interactive programs of Budapest:

Engineers’ kindergarten: Build your own robot and take it home. Here you can build cleaner robot, robotic insects and automatically drawing robot too, so come grab a soldering iron in your hand and create your own! @ Tempus Public Foundation (1146 Budapest, Ajtósi Dürer sor 19-21.), between 15:00-00:00

Quechua Indians and food chemistry: How can we cook without actually cooking? Well, the Quechua knew the mystery of food chemistry 2000 years ago. During the night we’ll prepare “ceviche” from red meat tuna, salmon and sea bass, and examine what sensory changes occurred on the meat because of the effect of the acidic medium. @ Corvinus University (1118 Budapest, Ménesi út 43-45.) 16.00-19.00

European Linguistic Cocktail Bar: Cultural diversity, fun and interesting language learning, European cooperation. At this program organized by European Cultural Institutes operating in Hungary (EUNIC Hungary) we can play linguistic games, meet native speakers and obtain the symbolic European Linguistic Passport. @Italian Cultural Institute in Budapest (1088 Budapest, Bródy Sándor utca 8.) 14:00-18:00

Apduino - Automatization and remote control with the Internet: Automated heating, lighting and alarm system, followed and configured on the Internet? Mozart as we’ve never heard: International sensation that a few weeks ago, a fraction of the original manuscript of Mozart's most popular piano sonata was discovered in the Hungarian National Library. The manuscript of the Sonata in A major (K. 331) known for the final "Turkish-March" will be presented here for the first time, before the foreign professional presentation. @ National Széchenyi Library (1014 Budapest, Buda Castle) 18:00-20:00
