After our list about films shot in Budapest, now we collected the best video clips filmed here. And if you want to visit these places while being in Budapest, then scroll down to the end of the article, where we gathered all famous venues in one map. So here come the greatest hits without being exhaustive.

Michael Jackson - History

We cannot start with anything else but with the most famous video clip shot here: Michael Jackson’s History teaser video. The Hungarian capital appears as a Russian military scene in this video using incredible visual technology, but the watchful can detect quite a lot of locations in Budapest: first of all Heroes' Square.

Gwen Stefani - Early Winter

Gwen Stefani has also been to Budapest: they filmed the main parts of „Early Winter” in Nyugati Railway Station. (But they had also filmed in Prague and Milan, so the merit is common.) The clip was made for the European market; it has never been officially presented overseas, so maybe this clip is not familiar for everybody.

Selena Gomez & the Scene – Round and Round

Selena filmed „Monte Carlo" movie in the capital in 2010, and since she was here, killed two birds with one stone. The short film shows Budapest quite detailed: the plot takes place in the Castle and Pest city center, in the streets and beneath the arcades and rooftops of 6th and 7th districts. Parliament, Chain Bridge, Hotel Astoria, and Dob street all appear in Round & Round.

Sarah Connor - From Sarah with love

Here comes a true classic, that I’m 100% sure you know. The clip takes place in the Keleti Railway Station in autumn: the platforms are covered with leaves; the story is played in the present and the past, and even a Hungarian deck of cards shows up in Sarah Connor’s biggest hit.

Katy Perry – Firework

The most of us remember to the shooting of Fireworks: it wasn’t so long ago that the entire city talked about it, and even the Castle was closed. All the more so because the extras were recruited from the public. The clip filmed in the Castle has been viewed more than 500 million times and about one-third of the comments are interests about where the recordings were made.

The Chemical Brothers - The Boxer

To have a little retro on the list: in the video of the almost a quarter century old The Chemical Brothers a guy is just going through an underground car park in Budapest, when his basketball comes to life in his bag. The ball bounces through the city, travels with a Lada, and after its short renaissance, bursts in an old phone booth near Baross street.

Groove Coverage - Moonlight Shadow

If the previous one brought back the retro feeling, than the Groove Coverage is the 2000’s itself. Besides, we can admire the whole town in this film. The story of the clip starts at Heroes' Square, then a bit of the Chain bridge, some Grand Boulevard (Nagykörút) and Octogon appears in the clip, and theneventually the German dance band found the phone booths, like The Chemical Brothers.
