Autumn in Hungary is all about wine. Wineries seem never to run out of the „drink of the Gods”; there’s an unlimited number of gastronomy festivals all over the country. And one can never get bored of them.
Wine Festival in Buda Castle in September was for wineries to show their entire wine collection. The annual New Wine and Cheese Festival on 29-30 November on the other hand is solely for the new wine they have produced and the best food to go with it: cheese. The event will take place at the romantic fairy tale castle of Budapest, Vajdahunyad in City Park.

The program of the festival includes a wide range of activities, both inside the castle and outside, on the castle grounds. You have a chance to taste the lesser-known wines of Hungary, the local wines of limited editions by professional wine makers and also the best homemade cheese from the countryside. Entrance fee includes entrance to the Agricultural Museum, too.

And if you’re not hungry or thirsty anymore, the location, surrounded by incredible sights, offers other programs, too. You can put on some skates and spend an hour or two on the Ice Rink nearby, take a walk at the City Park or a bath in Széchenyi Thermal Bath.
