Sziget Festival is the most popular music festival of Budapest. The official 2014 Aftermovie was just published and it proves that this year’s festival week was the best of all. It motivates every music lover to start to think about next year’s Sziget; fortunately, we already know some of 2015’s performers.
Tickets to this year’s Sziget Festival had been sold before the opening and the 415 thousand visitors broke all the records. It’s almost 8 months till the next festival but on the first day of the ticket sales for 2015, more than 10% of the passes were sold in 24 hours. Having watched the official 2014 Sziget Aftermovie, we understand why. The aim of this short movie is quite simple: to evoke the atmosphere of last August and provide a brief flashback of this year’s festival holiday in the capital city.

We can only hope that next year’s Sziget Festival will be as much as or even more fun than 2014’s. The event hosts more than 50 venues, therefore the list of programs is almost eternal and takes a long time to get its final shape. The preparation takes a long time and fortunately it has already started; organizers are revealing the music line-up. The Island of Freedom is always the right place for colorful programs and 2015 will also see an event presenting as many genres and artforms as possible. Next year, Sziget Festival will take place between 10-17 August.

It has been announced that the popular English indie rock band, alt-J is among the 2015 performers. With their debut album, 'An Awesome Wave', released in 2012, they reached a huge success, followed by this year's 'This is All Yours'. British singer-songwriter Jamie Woon will also perform on one of the Sziget stages. His characteristic voice is combined with an exciting merge of cold electronic tunes and soul.
It has also been confirmed that Florence and the Machine will play on 11 August and Szitizens will be happy to welcome Fauve, an interesting French combination of music and videography as well. The second part of their debut album, Vieux Fréres - Partie 1, is expected by the end of the year or early 2015. Furthermore, José González, The Subways and Babylon Circus are among next year’s stars as well. Ticket sales have already started, so get your Early Bird tickets until 31st December!
