Last year the Budapest Essentials did not draw attention to itself only with the performers, but also with the wide range of exciting program venues. Fortunately, there will be no shortage of curiosities either this year, in fact: some programs moved to surprising locations. In addition to the popular downtown clubs, museums, restaurants and cafes, such special places have been added to the map of Budapest Essentials as the former Amusement Park, Margaret Island, Railway Museum, Zwack factory, or even the Várkertbazár.

La Roux, the Wombats and Katy B occurs on Margaret Island, Carl Craig and Solomun will perform in the Railway Museum, the former Amusement Park hosts DOPE D.O.D and Sub Focus, and the Austrian Peter Kruder, the Canadian Austra, Aquarius Heaven, and the Garden City Movement from Israel are also coming to Budapest. The pop-up stages set up in the Gozsdu Sky Terrace, the 360 Bar and Gozsdu court are also preparing with exciting programs, while in the Akvárium Club Gold Panda, Zinc, Answer Code Request live and Cosmin TRG will entertain the festival visitors.

Besides the evening concerts, the event also offers exciting daytime programs: the armband is associated with extra admission ticket to the Zoo, the Ludwig Museum and many spas for example, but unusual urban tours and pop-up exhibitions will welcome visitors as well. The offer contains half-price tickets to more exhibition centers, including Capa Centre, Vasarely Museum and the National Gallery, but the best restaurants, street food places, new wave cafes, and high-quality entertainment venues are on the list as well. Next to the delicacies, we can explore the cobblestones and the secrets of Budapest’s engraved walls, as the “Hosszúlépés” team offers unique sightseeing tours: Hollywood-, Metro 4- and „Made in Budapest" themed walks are organized as well.

And if that's not enough reason: Budapest Essentials is officially one of the best urban festivals of the world (urban means there is no paddling in the mud, jumping in rubber boots, but there is a bed to sleep instead of the tent): Buzzfeed lists it among the five best urban festivals of the world in the company of New York's Electric Zoo and London's Field Day.
