Why is Royal Russian Ballet’s Swan Lake a must-see?

Let yourself be enchanted by the most loved classical ballet, Swan Lake performed by Royal Russian Ballet in the last days of February in Budapest.

When I was a little girl, I loved watching all kinds of dance and I remember the time when I first saw Swan Lake. I liked how this masterpiece composed originally by Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky in 1875–76 encapsulates magic, mystical creatures and some features of the real world.

I liked the characters and the story, of course: Odette, a princess turned into a swan by an evil sorcerer's curse falls in love with a prince, Siegfried, but he is conned by the sorcerer and Odilia. She resembles Odette, but she is a black swan who wants to enchant the prince at his ball with her dance. I remember her dance, performed usually by the same dancer who plays Odette.

Royal Russian Ballet presents this performance in unique, original choreography of Marius Petipa with new styled costumes and scenery. The members of the group are among the best ballet artists of Russia who perform Swan Lake by presenting the main elements of the Russian ballet school. They have already travelled the world and had highly successful shows everywhere.

So in my opinion, if you would like to be flown to the world of magic, or to be enchanted by this beautiful ballet performed by the best ballet dancers of Russia, you should ensure your seat for the Swan Lake by the Royal Russian Ballet in Budapest Congress Centre. Tickets are still available for the afternoon show of 27 February, but the evening of 27 February and the show of 28 February are already sold out.

If you can’t visit Budapest at the end of February, don’t be sad, you can also see the Swan Lake in Szeged (29 February), Miskolc (1 March), Kecskemét (3 March), Pécs (5 March) and Debrecen (6 March).
