Listen to the legendary Plácido Domingo in Budapest for free this August – we give you the coordinates in the following article.

Iconic opera singer, well known conductor and currently the general director of the Los Angeles Opera – Plácido Domingo has his hands full working but fortunately, he has found some time in his busy schedule to come to Budapest for a free concert.

You can see him and listen to his surely unforgettable concert – opera arias, songs from operettas and musicals, as well as zarzuelas recalling his Spanish roots – on 10 August at 8 pm outside the St. Stephen’s Basilica.

There are also several young talents who got the possibility to perform at the concert: Angel Blue and Micaëla Oeste from the Domingo’s Operalia singing competition, the Hungarian soprano Polina Pasztircsák, and violinist Gyula Váradi from the Hungarian classical music talent show Virtuózók can participate at the concert. They will be accompanied by the Hungarian State Opera Orchestra, conducted by Eugene Kohn.

In case of bad weather, the concert will be held inside the basilica. If you are worried that you won’t manage to get close enough to see the legendary singer and his younger friends, we can assure you that you will see everyone thanks to the big screens in the square and the streets nearby. And the music can be heard from a certain distance, too, so it is really worth participating at this concert!
