Not only the Hungarian places worth trying!

Fusion kitchen and different culture’s food are so trendy these days. And fortunately, Budapest has many shops, where we can buy the different specialties. Here come our 5+1 favorite places.

Asian, Korean and Japanese grocery @ Fővám Square

If you’re in love with the eastern taste, but already get tired of the Chinese takeaway food, there is a heavenly place in the city centre. Ázsia Bt has everything you need to prepare your favorite Asian food at home or buy some unique material for later. Spices, sauces, pasta ... plenty of local delicacies.

Russian Delicates @ Retek Street

Caviar, vodka, grog, smoked salmon… these kinds of things come to our mind when we talking about Russia… and Arbat Delicates has it all. And they also have the only opponent of our Túró Rudi: a chocolate-coated foamy cottage cheese.

The home of American snacks @Damjanich Street

If you’re on a diet, don’t even read this, but this Grocery has it all. Unique MCM’s, limited edition Snickers, Dr. Pepper and Dorritos… They have everything you would buy in the USA as a souvenir gift. Yes, these brands are well known, but trust us, they have their little secrets and versions you have never heard of.

The British Store @ 13th district

If you’re more of a buttery biscuit and afternoon tea type, try the ultimate British shop. They have the best quality cider, ginger beer, oat biscuit, unique Cadbury’s, and delicacies that makes you feel like you have a tea party with the Queen. At least, this is how we imagine the Queen’s five o’clock ceremony.

’Szép kis India’ Indian store @ Wesselényi street

They have everything we might need for a traditional Indian meal, but we love this place so much, because – beside food – they have original ornaments, dresses and decorations as well. So if you plan a thematic evening, this is the best place to visit! And they also have Cuban, African, Indonesian and Philippine delicacies as well, so this place is a must-see.

Little Italia called Italia Zamata @ Fény street

Local people love the market at Fény Street for a good reason. It’s one of the best in the city and has such hidden gemstones as this Italian deli at the second floor. Huge olives, mozzarella di bufala, homemade pesto with truffles and tomato variations can be found here for any occasion.
