Divine pastas and pizzas, even in gluten-free version.
Italian food is probably the most popular national cuisine – well, maybe after Chinese, – yet, it’s hard to find a really good Italian restaurant. If you agree, we have a good news: the newest Mediterranean place of Budapest, La Fabbrica meets the requirements in all respects. This ’factory’ is in the middle of Budapest downtown, near the Basilica, and offers not only real Southern Italian courses, but it showcases the best foods of the Mediterranean area: La Fabbrica offers the cuisine of the Iberian Peninsula, Greece, Italy, Turkey, and the Mediterranean Coast. And it’s not only a restaurant, but also a bar and “trattoria”! Both the restaurant section and the bar represent the elegant style, highlighting two unique solutions: the living olive tree and the light over the bar, which is no other than a bathtub.
The food doesn’t just bring the high level that we expect based on the design, but it may even surpass it. The spaghetti with divine sweet tomato is a simple but great lunch, the classic Mediterranean pizza with Italian sausage, Neapolitan broccoli, smoked buffalo mozzarella is a must-try, and the Mediterranean-style cod fish, grilled in spiced breadcrumbs crust with cherry tomato is probably the best thing I’ve ever had. And on the top of all this, they make all of their pizzas and pastas in gluten-free version too!
