If you are a fan of Irish beer and traditional British dishes, and you would like to enjoy these in Budapest, too, then we have really good news for you: the legendary pub, Becketts has reopened.
Do you remember Becketts? If you have been to Budapest in the last few years, and you enjoyed Guinness beer and other food or drinks there, we are sure that you do. The iconic pub opened in 1994 in the Hungarian capital, and closed its gates in 2014. Their guests – Hungarians, tourists, expats, university students, etc. – very really sorry about the fact that they lose their favourite pub but the owners promised to reopen it in a new place.
It took almost a year to do that, but you can find Becketts in Budapest again, in Liszt Ferenc Square. The place is new but the owners kept the old concept: they took their souvenirs and décor to the new Becketts – to the venue which was previously known as “Circus” in the popular square of the city.
The layout of the new Becketts is of course a bit different from the old one, due to the endowments of the new venue – the guests can enjoy the food, drinks, big-screen TVs and typical Irish atmosphere in three floors.

The drinks menu wasn’t changed particularly, they offer for example Guinness, Jack Daniels, ciders. But if you remember their food menu, you will notice that they have made some changes in this section, because in addition to the British dishes they have offered, we can eat for example Tandoori chicken wings, too.
Becketts has reopened on 6 February and they will have a bigger opening party on the Valentine weekend, 13 and 14 February. The DJs of Becketts and Irish Cat and Inka-H U2 Tribute Band will provide music, and we are sure that all the guests will enjoy the food and drink menu of the reopened iconic pub.
