Are you hungry? Would you like to taste good quality bakery products and fresh milk? Then don’t miss the newly opened Panifico Il Basilico artisan bakery in the 6th district of Budapest.

There are many restaurants, bistros, pubs and other nice places in the downtown of Budapest to choose from, if you would like to spend quality time with your friends or family. But there are not so many when it comes to variegation. This is what the newly opened Panifico Il Basilico offers in the 6th district of the city, more exactly in the popular Király Street.

Il Basilico is an artisan bakery with fresh bread and bakery products and an Italian bistro, as well, where you can taste for example pizza and pasta. But that’s not all. It is a mini-shop, too, where you can buy the most delicious products of Hungarian farmers, and of course fresh milk from milk-automats.

“The first reactions from our guests are great. We wanted to create a simple but cool place, where everyone can find his or her favourite bakery products, dishes or other products. We are really curious, how the reactions in the next weeks will be. We have been working for several months to create Il Basilico, and we hope that those who visit us will like what they can find here” – said Szabolcs Szabadfi, the main baker.

In Il Basilico, they find it important to use the best ingredients and to work with experts. For example, the pizza baker, Péter Pomázi is the winner of the Italian pizza baking world championship (2010), and the confectioner of the artisan bakery, Boglárka Fekete is junior confectioner champion, who has worked for the iconic Gerbeaud confectionary.

We have already mentioned the best ingredients used by the experts of nice food here. They tend to use Italian and Hungarian vegetables, sauces, purées, ham, sausages, etc., and many of these are available for purchase in their mini-shop, for example the chilli sauces of Chili Hungária Manufacture, milk and dairy products of Koppányi-Tej, or ham and sausages from Püski Manufacture.

You can find Panifico Il Basilico artisan bakery in Central Passage, 8-10 Király Street, in the 6th district of Budapest. The place is open every day from 7 am to 10 pm.
