„Ars Futura Cultura”, i.e. „Arts Cultivate the Future”. This is the motto of A’ Design Award and Competition which aims to highlight, advertise and advocate good design, designers and companies for a better future. They believe that the future is shaped by arts, design and technology, therefore good design is vital for it. The award is the most prestigious one, is recognized worldwide and catches the attention of design-oriented companies, well-known professionals and interest groups.

To the 2013-2014 competition, 12 523 works from 208 countries were submitted in 105 categories. Winning one of the prizes is the proof of quality, of having attained an exemplary level of greatness for chocoMe. The company introduced the new handmade product line in 2013, Raffinée chocolate balls are available in 5 flavors. In addition to the 3 freeze-dried, so still crispy fruits – strawberry, raspberry and sour cherry –, pecan and peanut are on the list of flavors, too.

The aim of chocoMe and the two designers, Gyula Ebedli and Gábor Mészáros, was to create an attractive holder that can function as a gift box, and the uniqueness of which fits the quality of the chocolate inside. Raffinée pieces are easily accessible from the elegant package. Under the cover, the delicious dragees are put in a parchment paper bag which, after opening and folding it to the sides of the box, shapes a chalicelike serving bowl.

Earlier in 2013, two other products of chocoMe – a type of milk chocolate with a special pecan-caramel flavor and a dark chocolate with spearmint leaves, lime and candied lemon peels – were awarded in London, at the competition often referred to as the ’Oscars’ of the food world and the ’epicurean equivalent of the Booker prize’. The Great Taste Award is said to be the world’s biggest and most respected food tasting competition, and – contrary to the prize chocoMe won in Milan – it’s not the design, but the taste in focus. So A’ Design Award is not the first international recognition the company has got, and we hope that the number of awards on the shelf of chocoMe will significantly increase in the near future, too.
