Macaron Day – enjoy the sweetest day in Budapest
Posted by Mia Balogh · Mar 16, 2017

Don’t forget: 20 March is Macaron Day. Let’s celebrate together these sweet and colourful pastries and help a good cause.

Are you a fan of macarons? Not yet? Well, then you will be on 20 March, if you taste some – for example in one of the top confectionaries of Budapest. You will find these spots on the first macaron map of Hungary – it will be available via www.macaronnap.hu –, made for the Macaron Day, organized since 2012 in Hungary. On the map, you can find several new macaron-selling spots that you can rate, visit again and where you can even be so lucky to get macarons for free.

It is important to mention that this year, following the footsteps of the original Macaron Day, charity will be in the centre of Macaron Day in Hungary, as well: with each small pastry bought, you will help Autistic Art Foundation.

About Macaron Day and macarons:

The annual Macaron Day in Budapest is inspired by the ‘Jour du Macaron’, held on the same day in Paris and by the Macaron Day in New York City. It's dedicated to the famous French macaron, a round, flourless, often almond-based crunchy pastry sandwiched together with a soft creamy centre. The history of the cake dates back to a 9th century Italian monastery, but if you are more interested in the present and future of this cute and sweet little pastry, then taste it (or more of it) on 20 March. Happy Macaron Day to y’all! ;)
