5 things you need to experience in Budapest next year
Posted by Mia Balogh · Jan 3, 2018

Instead of New Year’s resolutions you would never keep, promise yourself only two things for 2018: visit Budapest and have fun. Our short guide will help you in that.

Budapest Eye

If you want to see the city within a few minutes, we can recommend you a very memorable program: try Budapest Eye, the big Ferris wheel on Erzsébet Square, which will take you above the houses of the city centre, and guarantees a fantastic panorama view. Budapest, as you’ve never seen before. We tried it a couple of times but still can’t get enough. ;)

Chocolate Museum

Do you speak some Hungarian? And would you like to surprise your other half with a really special program? If yes, then take him or her to the Chocolate Museum in Budapest. It is a super program choice for Valentine’s Day but it is also great if you want to know more about chocolate manufacturing or to make a boring weekend a little bit more special.

River Ride

What about some sightseeing? In Budapest, you can choose the adventurous way: choose River Ride sightseeing buses, that can - after driving on the busy streets of the city - plunge into the River Danube. Don’t worry, you won’t be wet but in our opinion, it is still a summer experience.

Sziget Festival

We have mentioned summer, well, if you visit Budapest in summer of 2018, there is one event that should be an absolutely ‘must see’ on your list: Sziget Festival, one of the biggest and most popular music- and cultural festivals in Europe. We love it, because in spite of the crowd, it is always very colourful and friendly.

Advent fair at St. Stephen’s Basilica

This year, the Christmas fair at St. Stephen’s Basilica was voted 4th best in Europe. If you’ve never seen it, visit Budapest in December 2018 and experience the magic of this beautiful Christmas market – you won’t regret it!
