Europe’s largest thermal lake in Hévíz
Did you know that Europe’s largest thermal lake can be found in Hungary? More specifically in Hévíz, a small town 193 kilometres southwest of Budapest. Hévíz Lake is filled naturally by hot springs. If you decide to cool down outside, don’t feel bothered by the ducks and water lilies on the lake. But if you don’t want to meet the local flora and fauna, then choose the indoors with seven thermal pools, mud baths and medical treatments.

Amazing water world in Hajdúszoboszló
Try the thermal bath, the Aquapark, the 20 themed pools of the Aqua Palace adventure section, or just cool down at one of the 13 outdoor pools and the artificially built seashore at Hungarospa, Hajdúszoboszló, Europe’s largest bath complex. If you would like to spend your holidays in a fantastic water world, with a lot of fun, it is definitely worth visiting for, and driving 243 kilometres from Budapest.

The Turkish way – Egerszalók
The Hungarian open-air complex, located about 130 kilometres from Budapest is one of the most unusual spas in the countryside. It is often called Salt Hill because of the white colour of the mounds, which are covered by mineral deposits left by the flowing water. You can enjoy here 17 indoor and outdoor pools, adventure, children and thermal pools, too. Try the Turkish bath, and if you would like to find more similarity with the Turkish, then visit Eger, a small town near Egerszalók, with a lot of historic memories from the Turkish times.

Cave Bath in Miskolctapolca
It’s not easy to pronounce or to memorize, but Miskolctapolca certainly is worth travelling for. The experience in the local Cave Bath is really amazing – if you have never had the opportunity to swim in underground waters, you should definitely try it here. In summer, their outdoor complex is opened, too, with children, adventure and swimming pools, waiting for everyone.
