You might have heard that Hungary is the country of festivals, and of course we have several music festivals to mention here – check out our summary of best ones for this summer.
1. Sziget Festival
Sziget, one of the biggest multicultural events in Europe, will be organized this year for the 23rd time, from 10 to 17 August. It was originally invented to be a community area, a place to find new people, new musical influences, but nowadays, this is much more than that: a huge festival where you can spend more than a week with old and new pals. It begins with concerts on the Day 0 and ends with an End Show on the last day.
On stage this year: you can enjoy concerts of Hungarian artists and international superstars, as well, for example Robbie Williams, Kings of Leon, Avicii, The Script or Florence and the Machine. http://szigetfestival.com/
2. VOLT Festival
If you would like to visit a festival in the countryside, and enjoy some really good concerts for a reasonable price, choose VOLT Festival, which is organized in Sopron, this year between 1 and 4 July. People who have already visited this event, are likely to return because of the friendly ambiance of a “big festival” which is not too big at the same time.

3. EFOTT
The festival of college and university students, EFOTT is organized in different cities of Hungary every year. In 2015, Velence will be the host, which can be ideal for everyone who wants a festival experience, great concerts and beach holiday – at Lake Velence, you can have this, too.
On stage this year: mainly Hungarian bands, for example Wellhello, Punnany Massif, Halott Pénz, Quimby, Kiscsillag, Tankcsapda and other bands. http://www.efott.hu/
4. Balaton Sound
The festival organized in Zamárdi from 8 to 12 July is for anyone, who likes electronic beats, loves to party and enjoys the beauty of the Balaton-region. It is unbelievable to dance with a background like the lake Balaton or the beautiful Tihany Abbey.

5. Fishing On Orfű
Since 2008, Fishing on Orfű became one of the most popular Hungarian festivals. This year, it will be organised from 17 to 20 June, at the Panorama camping, Orfű lake, near Pécs. The festival is often said to be the most friendly alternative festival in Hungary, suggested especially for students, young people and adventurers who are opened for new experiences in music and in life.
On stage this year: Hungarian bands like Kispál és a Borz, Pál utcai fiúk, Kipu, Sorbonne Sexual, HS7. http://fishingonorfu.hu/
