The Oscar winning cinematographer, Vilmos Zsigmond got a special surprise for his 85th birthday from Danubius Hotel Gellért: they have given his name to one of their suites.

After some honoured guests like Richard Nixon, Andrew Lloyd Webber, Otto Habsburg, Maximillian Shell, Yehudi Menuhin, or Hungarian talents like Ida Turay or Antal Páger, in Danubius Hotel Gellért, they have decided to name one of their suites after an iconic Hungarian artist, Vilmos Zsigmond.

It was the 85th birthday of the well known cinematographer and photo artist that provided the occasion to the management of the hotel to do something in respect for Zsigmond, so they decided to name a room after him.

The cinematographer, who won Oscar for his work on the film Close Encounters of the Third Kind, was present at the ceremony, when the suite 304 officially was named Room Vilmos Zsigmond. This was the first time in the history of the 97 years old hotel that the eponymous person was there at the naming ceremony, as well.

Here are some photos from the event.
