Spectre-facts – interesting details from the new 007 movie

Beautiful girls, supercars, expensive gadgets and the person who can have it all – James Bond. The newest 007 movie, Spectre comes to Hungarian cinemas on 5 November so it’s high time to review and resume some interesting Spectre-facts.

1. Ang Lee, Tom Hooper, David Yates, Danny Boyle, Shane Black, Christopher Nolan, and Nicolas Winding Refn, were all considered to direct Spectre movie before Sam Mendes agreed to return. He was the director of the last Bond movie, Skyfall (2012).

2. James Bond’s new car will be an Aston Martin DB10. The CEO of Aston Martin tweeted: It is "strictly created for James Bond and strictly limited to ten cars only. It is the most exclusive car of the DB series ever". New styling direction has also been taken, with a more angular look than has ever been witnessed on an Aston Martin.

3. With an estimated 300 to 350 million US dollars budget, this will be the most expensive James Bond movie ever made. The previous had been the Quantum of Solace (2008) with an estimated budget of around 200-250 million US dollars.

4. Monica Bellucci becomes the oldest ever actress to play a leading Bond Girl role, beating Honor Blackman who was 37 when she starred in Goldfinger. The Italian beauty was born in 1964, the same year that Goldfinger was released - she turned 51 on 30 September this year.

5. Actress Stephanie Sigman will become the first Mexican Bond girl ever.

6. Daniel Craig's fourth appearance as James Bond ties with Pierce Brosnan’s number of appearances as James Bond. Together, they tie for the actor with the third most number of appearances in a Bond film. Roger Moore had seven and Sean Connery had six appearances, but the latter also ties with Moore if one counts the unofficial Bond film Never Say Never Again (1983).

7. This is Daniel Craig’s first acting role in three years. His last film was Skyfall in 2012.

8. Mr. Craig has recently shocked fans by dismissing the possibly of returning for a fifth time as the action hero. ‘I’d rather break this glass and slash my wrists,’ he said during an interview with London's Time Out magazine. ‘We’re done. All I want to do is move on,’ the actor added.

9. Daniel Craig was paid 10.7 million US dollars for Skyfall, making him the highest-paid Bond actor ever, and the film was the first Bond movie to break the one billion dollar mark.

10. Spectre is the 24th film in the franchise. The notion first appeared in 1962’s movie Dr. No.

What is Spectre?

SPECTRE in the earlier Bond films stood for Special Executive for Counter-intelligence, Terrorism, Revenge and Extortion. SPECTRE has also been known as the Special Executor for Counter-intelligence, Terrorism, Revenge and Extortion. James Bond creator Ian Fleming originally had the acronym meaning slightly more simply the Special Executive for Terrorism, Revenge and Extortion.
