The International Circus Festival is the parade of the world's most successful productions. The best acrobats, circus directors, artistic directors come to Budapest in January every second year to introduce themselves to the professionals. It’s one of the most prestigious circus art festivals, and now the countdown is on.

In 2018 the whole world will pay attention to Budapest for one week! The 12th International Circus Festival will be held between the 8th and 14th of January 2018. This event is one of the most prominent events of the circus art in the world with the most excellent representatives of the profession, circus directors, artist managers in one place. We could say, the best and most successful circus productions from all over the world comes on stage during this week.

The first Budapest Circus Festival was held 21 years ago, in 1996 and as a result of the notion and casting of the professionals of the Hungarian Circus and Variety Non-profit Ltd. it soon proved to be equal with the great festivals of the circus world: in addition to Monte Carlo, Latina and Moscow, Budapest also has become an important meeting place for the circus art.

Next year’s event will be unique for another reason: on the 8th of January the festive year of the 250th anniversary of the birth of the modern circus art in Europe will start in Hungary. Whole Europe will celebrate for one year, and the opening celebration will be held during the Budapest International Circus Festival on the 9th of January, in the Capital Circus!
