Electric cars are part of our daily lives, and are the subject of many eco-conscious people’s dream, but here is something even cooler. A Hungarian team is testing the world’s first electrojet designed for series production! Narke is not a classic jet-ski and not a half-solution transformed from a gasoline model, but a whole new genre in sailing, which is electrically powered and environmentally friendly. The name comes from a genus of electric rays, an extremely complex and unique creature, found in the western Indo-Pacific and off southern Africa. Its special power (an extremely powerful electric shock) is only used in life-death combats against predators.
The new electrojet fights against oil puddles and exhaust fumes. With its high performance, moderate sound and elegant look, it represents a new generation based on pure energy. It is really futuristic: it has carbon fiber-reinforced composite structure, self-developed water-cooled three-phase asynchronous motor, new generation customizable smart display and three hidden berthing and lifting points. Its performance is 45 kW, the ultimate speed is 55 km/h (electronically limited) and the operating time per charge can be up to 1.5 hours, with normal use.
The construction is a Hungarian success story, but – of course - it can be also used on the seas of Europe. The first prototype is currently being tested and will be introduced in the second quarter of 2018 on the ‘Hungarian Sea’, Lake Balaton.
