All eyes on Russia at the moment, thanks to the football World Cup, but Budapest also received a little limelight: the World Cup’s anthem was shot in our capital.
We already knew that Will Smith arrived to Budapest for shooting but we all supposed that he was working on his next movie. Well, that’s right but he was also involved in something else. The video for the anthem of the 2018 Football World Cup, ‘Live it up’ was shot in Budapest, starring musicians Nicky Jam and Era Istrefi, football star Ronaldinho, and of course Will Smith.
The video was shot in various parts of Budapest, in total secrecy at the end of May. The shooting took three days. It is already available on YouTube and when you check it out, you might be surprised because instead of the well-known sights of the Hungarian capital, you will see other locations like a housing estate in Óbuda, the K-Bridge of Hajógyári Island and in Nagyvásártelep.

The song will be performed live on 15 July, before the final football match at the Luzhniki Stadium in Moscow.
Will Smith said this to fifa.com: “It’s an honour to be asked to perform at the 2018 FIFA World Cup. This global event brings people from all over the world together to cheer, laugh and experience magic. Collaborating with Nicky, Diplo and Era on this track represents harmony, eclectic flavours and genres coming together. At the end of the day, we just want to see the world dance.”
