Umbrella man on top of Megyeri bridge

Megyeri bridge is 10 years old – not every monument has a birthday like this.

We wrote about a totally jaw-dropping (or totally crazy) action a little bit more than two months ago, when the mysterious Hungarian stuntsman called Umbrella man climbed the dome of Budavár Palace to perform some acrobatic stunts in the sunrise. If it was his answer to Will Smith (who climbed on the top of the Chain Bridge shortly before that), well, we must say that the anonymous Hungarian has a point here.

And we didn’t have to wait for long for his upcoming stunt: a couple of days ago, he celebrated the 10th birthday of Megyeri bridge by climbing upon the bridge – 100 meters high – and making a so-called flag pose.

The ‘Umbrella Man’ said in an interview that he doesn’t want to tell his name or a lot more about himself because it’s not his person that counts. He wants to draw attention to Balance Project, where – with photographer Péter Kálló – their aim is to show the beauty of Budapest from a new point of view and to make all of us realize how beautiful our capital city is.
