If you love the music of Queen and feel attracted by the outrageous style of their iconic lead singer Freddie Mercury, you should see this new movie, ‘Bohemian Rhapsody’.
‘With a performance as commanding as Rami Malek’s at its centre, why isn’t Bohemian Rhapsody a better movie?’ – writes Owen Gleiberman for Variety and his opinion about the film is one of the most restrain we read.
Well, the critics are less enthusiastic about the movie, starring Rami Malek, also starring for example Lucy Boynton, Ben Hardy, Aiden Gillen and Mike Myers but if you listen to me, just don’t put the reviews first: go to the cinema and watch this movie. If you like the music of Queen and feel attracted by the outrageous personality of their iconic lead singer Freddie Mercury, I think you will like it.
Why? Because the direction, the story, the actors and of course the songs are absolutely fantastic. I like the idea that they made a movie about Queen, in which Freddie Mercury’s life got a very important role. So in my eyes, the film is not becoming ‘less’ with it, on the contrary, it is even more interesting. Anyway, how could anyone imagine the band’s story without their lead singer’s life, lifestyle, personality and problems to get a very important role in it, right? ;)
Let this movie take you for a ride through the iconic music of Queen and their revolutionary sound. Watch their near-implosion as Mercury’s lifestyle spirals out of control and their triumphant reunion on the eve of Live Aid in 1985.
If you ever wanted to be part of a Queen live show, but never were, this experience will nearly take you there… and make you quite emotional. But you won’t be alone with it. ;)
