Posted by Budnews · Apr 26, 2019

DriveNow launches at the end of April with BMW and Mini models, a total of 240 cars – including 40 BMW i3.

There are several car – and other vehicle – sharing system in the city, just think about Mol Limo or Greengo for example. But one thing was missing from this industry: luxury. This will end soon, as DriveNow, which is a member of SHARE NOW, one of the world's largest car-sharing companies arrives to Budapest with high-end cars. DriveNow is associated with BMW and is first introduced to Central and Eastern Europe in Budapest.

DriveNow will be available from April 29th, but we can register from April 11th through the application or on their website. The first five thousand user can register for free, then registration costs 4990 HUF (17.5 USD) in the first four week, then the final price of the registration will be 9900 HUF (35 USD). In each case, we get 25 bonus minutes with the registration.

The car-sharing service fleet is truly unique: it includes Mini Cabrios, MINIs with 3 and 5 doors, X2 City SUVs and electric i3 models. In addition, 5-door vehicles from BMW Series 1, Active Tourers from BMW Series 2, and BMW X1 will also be available to rent.

Its other special feature is that the cars can be rented with hourly rates (3, 6, 9 hours) besides the usual minute and daily based rate of the domestic market. Depending on the model, the rent costs between 99 and 129 Forints per minute, but it can be reduced to 62 Forints per minute in some cases.

The DriveNow zone in Budapest extends north to the Óbuda-Újpest line, eastward to Örs Vezér tere, from where it follows the Hungária Boulevard to Kelenföld. In the west, the border is Gazdagrét and Pasarét. Drivers can rent any of the 240 cars with the DriveNow app within the zone, and they can leave the area with the rented cars. But – as it's general with these services – you have to bring the car back to the zone when you're done.
