Budapest’s baths have reached a new revenue record

Nearly one million people have visited the baths of Budapest in the first quarter of 2019.

Budapest has been a popular destination for travellers for a while now and we can say that our capital still has a growing popularity. For example, more and more tourists would like to visit the baths of Budapest.

It means, based on the statistics reported by turizmus.com, that nearly 1 million guests visited the 11 Budapest baths that were open in the first quarter of 2019. This is 67 500 more than the record set last year and means a 7.4 percent increase in the number of visitors.

The revenue from sales was valued at €11.8 million between January and March. Just to be correct, it is 18.9% more than for the same period last year.

How is such an increase in the revenue possible?

One of the main reasons of this revenue record is the growing popularity of the baths amongst foreign tourists, what we already mentioned above. It is estimated that 60% of visitors from outside of Hungary went to one of Budapest’s historic baths.

Entry fees have also been increased by 5% at the start of the year (this means €0.5-1 per each bath) while additional services and the own branded products of the baths are also becoming more and more popular among the guests.
