Important recognition for Le Collier (The Necklace) : the short film collected two awards at Indo-Global International Film Festival in Mumbai.
Over the past years, Hungarian films have received quite a few awards, some of these are even internationally important, as well. Last week, we read about a new Hungarian short film, Le Collier (The Necklace), which won two awards at one of the world’s biggest film festivals in Bollywood.
Kristina Goztola and Péter Halmi’s new movie, a French-Hungarian co-production. It tells us the story of a beautiful Italian woman who goes to Paris, where she reads to an elderly, blind man, Michel, each night. Then she finds out that the man is hiding a precious necklace, and she becomes obsessed with it.

The short film was selected into one of the biggest film festivals, the Indo-Global International Film Festival in Mumbai and it collected the Best Director Award in the short film category and the Special Jury Award, too. There was no award ceremony because of COVID-19, the winners were notified via e-mail.
It was not the first time that this movie was presented: it debuted at the Bangalore Short Film Festival on June 7, and later, it was presented at the Sweden Film Awards on July 3, where it was awarded for its visuals. It was also screened at the Rome Prisma Independent Film Awards and at Madrid Film Awards.
