Would you like to learn meaningless foreign phrases from hot women?

If so, then the youtube channel of i-D magazine, one of the biggest English mags dedicated to fashion, music, art and youth culture is meant for you.

They have a video series entitled „How To Learn Languages With Models”, where in each episode a model provides insight into her mother tongue. Now in addition to Japanese, Danish, Russian or French, anyone can learn a word or two in Hungarian if they wish. Because since December 9 the meaning of “kutya” or “liliom” is no secret anymore: you can become familiar with their meaning and the perfect pronunciation in the interpretation of the most famous model of our country, Barbara Palvin.

So far 10 episodes have been filmed; each one has its own little theme. We could learn from the Portuguese Ana Barros how they say „I’m going to escape” in case of kidnapping, the Chinese Liu Wen invites us to play table tennis in Mandarin, and with Barbara Palvin you could find out, how does it sound in Hungarian „Sleep is essential for every healthy Hungarian girl.”

The aim of the series is to familiarize people with the different languages and countries through the fashion world, but the videos get quite a mixed welcome. We think although they are obviously no Oscar-winner works, but are perfect for a mental delete at the end of a busy day. What do you think? Would you like to take language lessons from any of them?
