Posted by Eszter Hermann · Mar 23, 2015

As USA Today has recently reported, Budapest is among the cheapest European cities. Indeed, the Hungarian capital has become a popular destination for budget-travelers. We’ve collected the best Budapest hostels for those who want to save money but still have a good accomodation.

Hipster Hostel

Hipster Hotel is one of the fanciest, most stylish, brand new hostels of Budapest. It was designed in a DIY spirit to welcome and host solo travelers and families, backpackers and city explorers. It’s located in District V, in the heart of the city, surrounded by everything one might need. It’s street 50 meters from Kálvin Square, in a student area with several cafes, bars, restaurants, pubs nearby. It offers 4 types of rooms: the Polka Dots Room with a mezzanine for sleeping, the Magenta Room with stylish black bunk beds, the colourful Candy Room and the Honeymoon Suite, for the two of you.

Carpe Noctem

Carpe Noctem has been voted as the 5th best hostel of the world and the most fun hostel by Hostelworld guests before. As the name shows (which means „seize the night”), it is a typical party hostel where you might arrive alone but leave with lots of friends. The staff is friendly and will guide you on your way with some off-the-beaten-track tips as you discover the pubs, bars and clubs of the city center. In Carpe Noctem, you’ll feel like being in a mate’s house, chilling on bean bags and having an awesome party.
