Budapest is listed on Forbes magazine's newest list presenting top European startup centers.
We have always considered that Budapest is one of the cultural hubs of startups, and now Forbes magazine confirmed us. It is written in the article about European entrepreneurial hubs that although the major technology investors continue to focus on London and Berlin, there are some lesser-known, but prolific European innovation centers some distance away from these giant centers.
And here comes Budapest into the picture as top European startup hub next to Eindhoven in the Netherlands, Lisbon in Portugal, Tallinn in Estonia and Lithuania itself. Moreover, they only write good things about Budapest: the author mentions that although Hungary’s post-communist transformation may not yet be quite complete, but the capital is undoubtedly a prime draw for start-ups, investors and incubators in the Central and Eastern European region.
It’s also described in our favor that Hungary is a hotbed of engineering expertise, especially in the area of telecom security. Ustream, LogMeIn and Prezi cannot be missed from this article as Hungarian companies that have taken their products into global markets, inspiring many domestic entrepreneurs and influencing the country’s startup culture. They also mention that much of the city’s success as a startup hub has been credited to Peter B. Záboji and his European Entrepreneurship Foundation (EEF), which has been running accelerator programs and investor events for the new generation of Hungarian entrepreneurs.
