Dog's playgrounds in the heart of Budapest
Posted by Budnews · Sep 13, 2016

There are some pretty cool playgrounds for dogs in the city center.

Sometimes it’s a huge problem to have a dog in a big city. The human parks are not for them (we know some examples, where it’s prohibited to enter with dogs): there are nice flowers that they are not allowed to chew and benches that cannot be marked…. life is hard for a big city dog. The cool places, woods, hiking trails are far from the city center, so they have to be content with some moderate walks. Or let’s put this whole thing in past tense. It’s been a few years that better and better dog runs are established in Budapest. There are some pretty good examples, where our best friends can have as much fun as they can bear. These parks have some common features in addition to the excellent entertainment possibilities: they are really close to the human facilities and hubs, so you can get there in 10 minutes and entertain yourself too, while your buddy is having fun.

Szent István Park

Perhaps this one is the best dog run in the downtown: although dogs are banned from the park itself, but there is a playground just for them next to the human territory. It’s close to Jászai Mari Square and the Danube, and has an incomparable atmosphere. The dog run includes an obstacle course, spacious squares and a long area for running.

Olimpia Park

It’s situated between Kossuth and the previously mentioned Jászai Square and is one of the highest quality parks in the city. Fortunately, they thought about the dogs during the construction: there is a modern doggy playground in the northern corner of the park. It’s clean, funny and secure, thanks to the special entrance.

Klauzál Square

Even if you’re in the party district, you don’t have to travel too much for some nice time together with your dog. At Klauzál square there is a nice, shady, airy dog park, which is a real oasis in that neighborhood. Unfortunately, the place has no dog toys, but in return, it is full of huge logs, which make the atmosphere extremely rustic.
