Airbnb of the wedding industry founded by Hungarian women

Orsolya Parkányi and Márta Matécsa have created something extraordinary last year, and people around the world are more and more interested in their project.

Can you imagine inviting tourists to your wedding? I think at first, the majority of us might say no, because weddings are intimate occasions for every family. But not everywhere: in India for example, weddings are more like huge festivals, with hundreds of guests who might never met before. So why couldn’t they open these weddings for tourists, who are willing to pay for this cultural and gastronomic experience?

The idea came from two Hungarian women, Orsolya Párkányi and Márta Matécsa, who founded their startup ‘Join My Wedding’ last year and the website for it this April. They have ambassadors in India who help them, so they can visit the weddings for free.
