Besides Hungarian media, Inhabitat and Mashable magazines have also written about this Hungarian invention.
Hungarian inventions and innovations get some attention regularly but this one has become quite popular also in the international media, in a short time. The invention, called Platio is a kind of pavement that harnesses and transforms those resources that would otherwise go to waste, writes Nlcafe.hu. These resources are for example human steps, biking, sunlight and night time public lighting.
The inventors of Platio came up with the smart benches, made available for everyone this summer at Városháza Park, near Deák Square. The benches, created together with Hello Wood, can be used to charge your smartphone. How is it possible? Watch the following video about it:

Cool, isn’t it? Well, if you visit Budapest in these days, you can still try the benches and charge your phone here because the pop up relaxing area stays here until September. And one more thing: you can also play table tennis- and teqball here, and drink from any of the two transformed fire hydrants, as well. So the park is not only a cool place, but also safe in these hot summer days. ;)
