We already know that The Parliament Building is one of the most beautiful landmarks in Budapest and even on Earth, now TripAdvisor’s recent list confirms this, too.

We like TripAdvisor’s compilations because we can regularly see Budapest or some of our beautiful landmarks on these. Recently, they have released their list of Travelers’ Choice 2017 award-winners and in the ‘Top 25 Landmarks’ category, we can see Budapest’s Parliament building on the 14th place, surpassing Notre Dame, Big Ben, the Acropolis of Athens, and the Sydney Opera House.

According to travellers, the top spot this year was Cambodian temple complex Angkor Wat, while the top ten included for example St. Peter’s Basilica, the Taj Mahal, the Great Wall of China, and Machu Picchu.

Did you know?

The construction of the magnificent Parliament building, inspired partly by the Palace of Westminster of England, began in 1885, and was fully completed in 1902. It was designed by Imre Steindl.

Even nowadays, the Parliament Building is one of the most outstanding landmark in the Pest side of the city. The outer walls are decorated with statues of Hungarian monarchs and military commanders, while the unique interior design includes huge halls, over 12,5 miles of corridors, a breathtaking 96-meter high central dome and almost 700 rooms (691 to be exact).
