You can expect many beautiful things walking on the Balaton Uplands: good wines, lavender fields, a wonderful view. But the most special car-motorbike museum in the country? Yes, even that, because Index found probably the most special car-motorbike collection in the country! This is the Káli auto-motor museum, Professor Kaáli's own extraordinary private collection. If the name sounds familiar, you’re thinking it right. He's the same Doctor who is the founder of the world-famous Kaáli Institute and to whom 25,000 children owe their lives.

But how will a world-renowned medical professor have a car and motorcycle collection owner? Well, Géza Kaáli Nagy has put together a collection of more than a hundred cars and motorcycles from his wealth of medical patents, and which is a really exciting and impressive selection of cars and motorcycles, a testament to super taste.

The history of the museum dates back almost a century. The first piece of the collection was a Harley Davidson FXRS Low Rider purchased in 1987, that rofessor Kaáli did not sell when he moved home from the United States. He also brought home the 1989 Jaguar XJS sports car and the Cadillac Coupe de Ville from 1977. Soon after, Kaáli decided to try to get the family cars to which he has a personal memory, and the rest, as they say, is history.

The idea has become reality during the decades: a private museum, one of the most unique in the country. Over the past few decades, the collection has developed with the help of Hungarian veteran car specialists, showcasing roughly 100 years of the history of cars. Knowing that the Ford T-Model was born in 1908, this means that we can get a glimpse into the entire history of driving.

The collection takes place on two levels in the house: the upper level is home for motorcycles, on the garage level there are two large rooms with cars. Here you can find such special vehicles as the Csepel 125 motorcycle, the Pannonia T model, the BMG 100 Hungarian small motorcycle, the 1939 SHB 98, the Harley-Davidson FXRS Low Rider, or the complete series of Pannonia motorcycles (12 types). As for the cars: Opel Olympia, Adler Triumph Junior 1E, Opel P4, Vauxhall Velox, Fiat Special F3, Borgward Isabella coupe, classics of the socialist car industry, a 1927 Ford T-Model, a 1914 Belgian Fabrique Nationale Model 1950 , Messerschmitt KR200, Porsche 356B, Citroën DS21, Maserati Merak, Ferrari Dino 308 GT4, and Austin 7 Ulster Special are all part of the collection.

And what’s even more impressive about this private collection is the immaculate condition of cars and motorcycles. They are in a good working condition almost without exception, and they even have a valid license plate.
