There is one thing you should not miss when you are in Budapest: the bistros of the city. Budapest bistros have this special atmosphere which can not be compared to any other city. Our guide helps you to choose from the many places. We collected the 5 best bistros of the Hungarian captial, different in style and prices.

Bock Bistro

The bistro got its name after Joseph Bock and his winery and it is placed on the groundfloor of Corinthia Grand Hotel Budapest. It is considered to be one of the top winehouses in the city and by the way their chef is among the best. Bock Bistro’s menu is usually based on rustic, seasonal meals, but the most important is that they try to keep the traditional hungarian relish, but a little bit modernized. Of course the wine offer is irreproachable.

L’entocea

If you feel like spending your supper in a more homelike place, you should absolutely visit L’enoteca. Their selection counts more than 300 bottles of the best wines. Have a plate of tapas or choose a Mediterranean plate from their menu, you will surely not regret it. The inetrior design, which recalls the mood of Italian wineries, the wines and the plates will make you feel like home.

Most Bistro

Most Bistro has a special athomsphere which can only be found in Budapest. Ever heard of the ruinpubs of the city? Well, imagine an extraordinary interior with rethinked furniture and a touch of industrial style. They are open from the morning until after midnight, so you can either start your day here with a cup of coffe and a wonderful breakfast, or you can drop by during the day for a special menu of lunch, but for sure you should not miss out dinner time. The menu contains Hungarian and international dishes to which you can choose the best Hungarian wines. Most Bistro also has a winery where you can taste their selection if you do not wish to have dinner.

Sonkaarcok

If I would translate the name of this bistro, I’d call it „Hamfaces”. Which is basically correct, as they offer the best tapas of Spanish (and Hungarian) ham in Budapest. Their concept is more like a gastrobar, where of course you can order the best matching wines to your chosen plate. Spend a light dinner in this bar and get a little feeling of the real Catalan atmosphere.

Mák Bistro

The birck walls, eclectic chairs and wooden tables give a special atmosphere to this bistro where you can eat ferial meals in a rethought way. The place is known for its small proportions so you can try the whole menuline, its Michelin starred chef will not disappoint you, we guarantee. The food is of great quality and creativity of combinating tastes. Their wine selection is also among the best, so if you are in the mood for a bit more extravagant dinner, do not miss Mák Bistro.
