5 best coffee shops for a business meeting

These places offer heavenly coffee in perfect environment for working.

What if you’re an entrepreneur temporary in Budapest and don’t have a fix office or meeting room? There are many places with great coffee, nice food, and perfect environment for a business meeting or working. These 5 places have never disappointed us.

Hadik

Hadik Coffee House is one of the legendary grand cafés of the city, which was restored to its original splendor in recent years. The café originally opened in 1911 and it became popular soon. Famous writers and journalists frequented the place and some of them like Karinthy, Móricz and Kosztolányi became regulars here. They serve desserts, coffee and a small selection of appetizers, soups and entrées as well as an inexpensive lunch menu on weekdays. Hadik is perfectly suited for bigger meetings: no one is surprised if we start talking about projectors and sound reinforcement after a table reservation.

Dunapark Coffee House and Restaurant

Dunapark Coffee House - as the name suggest – is situated near the Danube, right next to St Stephen’s Park. The café was opened in 1938 as the most significant modern style café of the capital. The latest owner intended the space to be a coffee house, featuring an atmosphere relating to that of 30s, allowing customers to reminisce of the past even in the XXI. century. Every morning customers are welcomed with fresh pastries, steaming hot cocoa and unique breakfast specials. The café’s real Italian coffee is a well-recommended specialty, but they also have freshly squeezed juices and refreshing soft drinks. The Bauhaus style, impressive interior makes it ideal for organizing more formal events here, although we can’t really use technical equipment here. But to exchange ideas, opinions, or to meet a business partner is a great venue.

UrbanFood Cafe & Coworking

This is the most unique place on our list: UrbanFood offers an unusual, inverse concept. At UrbanFood you have to pay for the time spent, not after the coffees or lemonade. It works as a coworking office, but you can also choose from super sandwiches and biscuits. If you want a private meeting or skype conference, you can book a smaller room. All tables have an inbuilt plug, so this place is the ideal choice with laptop and other gadgets.

Massolit Books & Café

Massolit is an English Language Bookstore and Cafe in the Heart of Budapest with amazing cakes and beautiful garden. They try to stock books in subjects that are difficult to find in Eastern Europe, including progressive politics, gender studies and Jewish studies. If you want to impress your acquaintances that you know the city's hidden treasures, you can make it easy here. You can choose from cookies, direct trade coffee and specialty tea, they serve American style bagels, brownies, quiches and carrot cake and lot more, baked by their own pastry chef. They also have a peaceful garden area with fig trees around, which you can enjoy from spring until it doesn’t get too cold.

D18 Café&Bar

D18 is another interesting place that is quickly becoming the Downtown spot for meetings, both formal and informal. Cozy and comfortable enough for a one-on-one or a study session on the couch or take advantage of their large upstairs room for your business meeting or planning session. They have everything from language groups and philosophy clubs to book clubs and writer’s groups. For something a bit more private they also have a “nook” suitable for 4-15 people.
