CUKOVY is getting more and more popular, let us tell you a little bit more about their latest collection and London fashion show.
I always like reading and writing about the success of Hungarian people, brands and especially fashion brands, because fashion is my passion. So I was really happy to read about a Hungarian luxury brand CUKOVY’s growing popularity and the successful introduction of their first menswear ready-to-wear collection in London.
The special fashion show was presented for some selected industry guests and members of the press for London Collections: Men on the 11th January 2016 in the beautiful central London’s member’s club Adam House and I really hope that after the success of this presentation, there will be more doors in the fashion world that open for the Hungarian luxury brand.
CUKOVY’s autumn/Winter’16 collection ‘ANDROGYNY’ is inspired by Hannah Höch German Dada artist’s work who used androgyny in her unique photomontages. The collection showcases the “genderlessness” in our modern world and it consists of several oversized coats, jackets carefully tailored to fit both men and women, and unisex pieces that emphasise the masculine features in women and feminine features in men.
The unique silhouettes and bold cuts aim to blur the line between genders. The pieces are from the highest quality mohair, leather, cupro and wool fabrics. The collection is dominated by soft pastel tones mixed with bold red and orange colours for men and women who want to emphasize their uniqueness and bravely stand out from the crowd.
About the brand:
CUKOVY is a contemporary brand defined by casual elegance, beguiling contrasts and the bold use of fabrics. Its appeal lies in its combination of sleek design and strong lines, audacity and youthful impudence. CUKOVY is for women at the forefront — women who would rather be pioneers than slaves to fashion and driven by the ambition to experiment and innovate. The brand was founded in 2014, has different high-end stockists in Central Europe and has been featured in different international editions of Elle, Marie Claire, Forbes and InStyle. The brand showcased its SS16 collection ‘Kaleidoscope’ as a special guest of Marie Claire Fashion Days Budapest.
