Prestigious architectural magazine listed the most beautiful bridges of the world.

For the most of us, bridges are functional things designed to safely pass from one side to the other, either over a river or over a gap. Nothing special: everyone can access these architectural works, anyone can use them. But hopefully, architects and designers see this thing in a whole different way. Achitecturaldiges.com, a magazine dedicated to architecture and design, has listed the 18 most beautiful bridges in the world. According to the magazine, these structures may be suitable for an independent destination themselves, they are so beautiful that it’s worth visiting the country just because of them.

The first, the most beautiful bridge on their list became Henderson Waves Bridge in Singapore. At its highest point Henderson Waves bridge is just over 118 feet, making it Singapore's tallest bridge. The modern pedestrian bridge is surrounded by the region’s lush natural foliage. Designed by the U.S.-based firm RSP Architects, Henderson Waves bridge connects Mount Faber Park and Telok Blangah Hill Park. The second one is Seri Wawasan Bridge in Malaysia, the third is Puente de la Mujer in Buenos Aires, while Széchenyi Chain Bridge became the ninth on their list.

Széchenyi Chain Bridge is indeed the most beautiful bridge of Budapest: is a suspension bridge that spans the River Danube between Buda and Pest, the western and eastern sides of Budapest, the capital of Hungary. Designed by the English engineer William Tierney Clark and built by the Scottish engineer Adam Clark, it was the first permanent bridge across the Danube in Hungary. It was opened in 1849.

It is anchored on the Pest side of the river to Széchenyi (formerly Roosevelt) Square, adjacent to the Gresham Palace and the Hungarian Academy of Sciences, and on the Buda side to Adam Clark Square, near the Zero Kilometer Stone and the lower end of the Castle Hill Funicular, leading to Buda Castle. The bridge has the name of István Széchenyi, a major supporter of its construction, attached to it, but is most commonly known as the "Chain Bridge". At the time of its construction, it was regarded as one of the modern world's engineering wonders.

If you are around, be sure to check it out, but until then, read the full list of the bridges here.
