What to use instead of public transport? Let us show!

If you are traveling abroad, you probably use public transport, or you may rent a car. Fortunately, thanks to the various vehicle sharing systems, we have many other, new options to get from A to B in Budapest. What's common: they are both easy-to-use, operates with an applications and give users freedom. Let's see what these opportunities are!

LIME

Let's start with the newest one: Lime is an electric scooter rental, but don't think about the motorcycle-style scooters. The scooters are capable of a maximum speed of 25 km/h, with a rechargeable battery and are equipped with a built-in GPS and an automatic break system. Prices: There is a basic fee: 250 HUF followed by a 50 HUF per minute charge.

MOL BUBI


Mol Bubi was the first vehicle-sharing system in Budapest, this opened the way for other similar businesses. The bike system currently operates with 143 docking stations and 1,846 bikes. Prices: 24-hour ticket: 500 HUF, 72-hour ticket: 1000 HUF, weekly ticket: 2000 HUF, 3 months ticket: 7800 HUF, half a year ticket: 12 500 HUF, annual ticket: 18 900 HUF.

DONKEY REPUBLIC


While MOL Bubi bikes are recognizable for their apple green color, Donkey Republic bikes are bright orange. But this is the only difference and the fact that Donkey Republic is much more expensive. Prices: 15 minutes: 475HUF, 1 hour: 955 HUF, 12 hours: 3150 HUF, 24 hours: 3800 HUF, 3-day ticket: 4880 HUF.

BLINKEE.CITY


Blinkee.city is the first scooter-sharing system of Budapest, and the only one that has classic mopeds. With their 3.1 KW engine power and 35 Ah power battery, they can go up to 60 kilometers with a single charge. Anyone older than 16 years of age can use them with at least a six-month old AM or higher license. Prices: 49 HUF / min (44 HUF / min for students), parking is 8 HUF / min. 1 day: 6400 HUF.

OGRE


Ogre scooters are bigger and heavier than Blinkee, but they are more powerful vehicles, and just as green and environmentally friendly. Prices: For one-time use: 990 HUF + 18 HUF / min, 75 HUF / km, parking: 10 HUF / min. If you use it every day than 3600 HUF one-time fee + 16 HUF / min, 70 HUF / km, parking: 8 HUF / minutes and this amount can be used for 30 days.

GREENGO


The first car sharing system in Budapest started its operation in 2016, and we can rent their electric cars at a minute rate, for up to three days. Their fleet consists of 300 cars, only 1-2 years old models. Prices: rent: 65 HUF / min, waiting: 15 HUF / min, monthly fee: 990 HUF / month.

MOL LIMO


Limo is Budapest's largest car sharing service: they have 450 cars across the capital. They have Smart, Volkswagen and Mercedes cars, included electric cars and petrol versions, and has contract with the Budapest Airport. Prices: In case of occasional use, the fee is 69 - 111 HUF / min, depending on the car type, in case of monthly construction, it's 59 - 99 HUF / min, also depending on the car type.

DRIVENOW


DriveNow is a premium car sharing system with MINI Coopers and BMWs, amongst which they have cabriolets. Currently, they have 240 cars across the capital and, like MOL Limo, they have airport service. Prices: the rental fee is 99 - 129 HUF / min, depending on the car type, but there is also an hourly rate option. There is a security deposit at the beginning of each booking, which is between 7500 - 8000 HUF.
