Luxury travel magazine Condé Nast Traveller listed 150 accommodations from all around the world in their illustrious annual compilation called Gold List, and this year, a Hungarian hotel is also on their list.

The Four Seasons hotel in the heart of Budapest is one of their top picks in our region. Just a quick note in here: the compilation is made by the New York-based magazine’s editors, so it is pretty subjective but at least based on personal experiences from 2019.

So the editors visited 49 countries across six continents, and more than 150 places managed to get on their Gold List. These accommodations are divided by continents on Condé Nast Traveller’s website because this way it is easier to browse and see through the results.

The list is simply amazing: it includes skyscraper hotels from Dubai, elegant English cottage inns and fantastic accommodations from the African savannah.

And of course Four Seasons Hotel Gresham Palace Budapest, which fascinated the editors with its locations and the results of its renovation. They write: ‘this is Budapest’s grandest hotel, a 1906 marvel of Secessionism (Central Europe’s take on Art Nouveau) that’s undergone an exceptional renovation: chandeliers and stained glass repaired and cleaned, mosaic tiles scrubbed, white stucco repainted. Its location couldn’t be better, on the riverfront, in the heart of buzzing Pest, looking across the Danube to hilly Buda and the medieval Old Town, and right by the famous Chain Bridge.’
