There will be no Sziget, Volt or Balaton Sound festival this year

This will be a sad summer.

Summer is unimaginable without festivals. Not only in Hungary, but all over the world, these 3 months are about music concerts and joy. This year, however, it will be different. After several foreign festivals, the biggest events in Hungary have announced: the party won't take place this year. This means that for the first time in 27 years, this summer will pass without Sziget Festival, and without the other large domestic festivals, Telekom VOLT Festival and Balaton Sound.

The details about ticket redemption and how to proceed aren't known yet: according to the organizers, the first thing to do now is to find the optimal solution for pre-order ticket buyers, be it next year's usability of tickets or the process of refunding. Analyzing the international examples, many solutions have already come to light.

“For us, the primary consideration now is to give our guests the best possible solution and to be able to enjoy these world-class festivals together next summer. It is also inconceivable that the enduring and beloved work of 27 years, our achievements and, last but not least, the opportunity for the festival experience of our millions of visitors so far, would be zeroed out from one moment to the next. So for now, we ask for patience, we are looking for a solution, but it would certainly mean a lot if the visitors who had already bought the ticket in advance treated this as an investment for next year's festival.” - added Tamás Kádár the main organizer of the Sziget Festival.
