Christmas trams bring light and shine
Posted by Mia Balogh · Dec 11, 2015

Christmas trams are the most popular advent attractions in Budapest - these beautifully enlightened vehicles make the days before Christmas even more memorable for all of us.

From 9 December to 6 January, you can travel on Christmas trams on the line of trams 2 and 61. Trams 61 depart from Széll Kálmán Square and Móricz Zsigmond Square (enlightened ones from Monday to Wednesday), and trams 2 from Boráros Square and Jászai Mari Square (enlightened ones from Thursday to Sunday).

Not all the trams will be enlightened, but a timetable is already available – you can see here which vehicle to choose if you would like to enjoy some time on the Christmas trams.

It is good to know:

You can travel on the Christmas trams with a normal ticket or any type of BKK passes – there is no special ticket needed for these vehicles. Christmas trams do not run on 24 and 31 December.
