New airport hotel coming soon at Liszt Ferenc Airport

Construction has begun, here are the plans.

Budapest finally fills a huge gap in its services: there is no airport hotel in the city. And it’s quite a big problem if we try to be a cosmopolitan city. People if they have 16-20 hours between the transfers, have to come into the city center, find a place to sleep and go back some hours later. The hotel to be built offers a solution to this. It’s true, that there is a hotel next to the airport, but this one will be exactly at the airport. The construction has started based on the plans of Aspectus Architects on the area of the external parking place in front of Terminal 2. The unique feature of the hotel is that it’s connected to the terminal with a direct, covered pedestrian passageway, so the passengers can easily walk from the hotel to the airport. The new hotel will be operated by Ibis Styles hotel Chain, and seems to be a great place.

According to the plans, the 5200-square-meter, five-storey hotel with atrium (patio) will offer a total of 145 rooms. In addition, they build several conference rooms for business meetings: the biggest, 350 square meters room can be divided into two separate departments for meetings up to 120 people. They will also make smaller seminar rooms and a separate meeting room for business travelers. The hotel is also a perfect location for the Hungarian businessmen to plan meetings with their foreign partners. And for us, ordinary people it will also have some huge pros. If the prices won’t be way too high, it will be a really cozy opportunity for catching the early morning flight. You don’t have to wake up at 3 am to catch the flight at 6 am. Just take it easy! The opening is expected in 2018-2019.
