Sports centre to be built at Déli Railway Station
Posted by Mia Balogh · Oct 26, 2017

The new sports and recreation centre will have several facilities and it will occupy some area from the railway station.

We have heard and read several possible solutions for transforming (more or less) the area of Déli Railway Station. Now we can tell you that a new sports and recreation centre will be built there - bids have been invited for the construction already, and the deadline for submitting applications for it is 14 November.

The future facility will have tennis, squash and streetball courts, a golf training field, an ice hockey rink, a ski training track, a climbing wall for children and also an extreme sports track. The facility is planned to be really big so it will probably occupy the railway station’s technical area adjoining the area of the Hungarian Sports University.

The construction project will not affect public rail services, according to Magyar Hírlap and we hope that it won’t affect the traffic of the area either.
