Budapest gets 7 new parks in the next few months

The city will be greener than ever.

Budapest is not one of the green cities. There are not so many green spaces and often in poor quality: burned-out, rare lawn, no trees, no benches and nothing to do. This is why it's such good news that the capital will establish several leisure parks in the next few months.

An interview by MTI revealed that the new family parks will be in Tabán, Óbudai Island, II. János Pál tér, in the Independence Park in the 11th district, the University Park, and the Kaptató promenade in Gazdagrét, and the Csillagtelep at Csepel.

There will be smart pillars providing wireless internet, UV display for proper UV protection and wardrobe that can be opened with an application, said Dénes Nagy, director of green space development at Főkert Zrt.

The seven new and renewed family parks fills a huge gap. The goal of the development is to provide active recreation for all members of the family in the new parks, so the city administration even add jogging and basketball courts, fitness equipment and exercise toys for children.

The first renovated parks are expected to be available in Budapest by mid-September. Can't wait to see the result!
