Like the old widow said in the Hungarian classic movie (Kalandorok): 'Only thing he loved was pálinka. Pálinka! That ruins everything!' Well, not the mood, that's for sure.
A tremendous amount of people say pálinka is even a medicine. Have you ever heard the Hungarian expression that 'If pálinka can't cure something, nothing can.'? Right or wrong, the annual Spring Pálinka Festival is here for you again!
Between May the 22nd and 25th there will be a good opportunity for you to join a great festival with a welcoming atmosphere in one of the most frequented part of the city of Budapest. This event will bring you a huge amount of exhibitors, offering gallons of high quality Hungarian pálinka and tons of good mood. It's all about smiles.
It will take place in its old new location in downtown Városháza Park, near Deák Ferenc square (Deák Ferenc tér). Among the best known and respected distillers, there will be several new exhibitors, so you will have the chance to try their products too. This year's special star will be the Pear Pálinka of the Year, one of Hungary's best pear pálinkas. And what is your favourite? If you don't have any, pick one for each day!
It's important for you to know that in the year of 2014 cash will be accepted everywhere instead of previous years' voucher and card system. This will make your life easier, that's for sure. The daily entrance fee of the festival is the usual 2000 HUF (the pass is 5500 HUF) including two valuable little coupons: one for trying the Pear Pálinka of the Year, and the other is for a fine shot of one of any other products!
Plum, cherry, apricot or pear, doesn't matter! Let pálinka start the fun – of course in reason. Let's meet between May the 15th and 18th in downtown Budapest, Városház Park at the annual Spring Pálinka Festival! You can easily reach it by three of the metro lines of the city: M1, M2 and M3, or you can choose between trams number 47, 48, and 49. Not to mention the blue buses, for example number 9, 16 and 105, or the red trolley bus number 74. You can decide taking one of the yellow taxis of Budapest, just do not drive! See you there!
