Posted by Budnews · May 30, 2019

You can see how the most famous beaches in Budapest have changed since last year – if they do.

Everyone knows that Hungary is famous for its spas and thermal water, but we also have some „cooler” opportunities in Budapest. Now we collected the bigger, more famous beaches of the city, but keep in mind, the list isn't complete at all and feel free to try the other facilities too.

Csillaghegyi Beach and swimming pool

Let's start with the biggest change: Csillaghegyi Beach turned into a huge complex named “Árpád Forrásfürdő” in the past year: 7,000 square meters of indoor baths were built, with a total of 11 swimming pools, saunas, and water slides. The original area is also functioning in the mountain atmosphered environment. One day adult ticket costs 3600 / 3800 HUF (weekdays or weekends) and it's open from 6 am to 8 pm every day.

Palatinus Beach

This is the most famous beach of the city, as it has been among the World's 10 best outdoor swimming pools according to The Guardian. Palatinus Beach introduced the cashless payment last year, they have new water playground and the indoor unit was also renewed. This beach has everything you need with its 11 pools (including of course some thermal pools) and the adventure elements. It's open from 8 am to 8 pm and an adult ticket costs 3200 / 3600 Forint.

Dagály Beach

If you're curious about how a real Hungarian beach looks like, you must go to the Dagály. There are also adventure, children and wave pools among the 10 pools. Dagály beach is equally ideal for families and groups of friends, and you will always have a hot summer experience: real beach atmosphere, programs, crowd and the Hungarian food specialty: the “lángos”. It's open from 6 am to 8 pm and the ticket is 2900/3100 Forint.

Széchenyi Bath

Although it's a thermal bath, Széchenyi has several outdoor pools. This is the largest and most popular spa in Budapest (end one of the largest in Europe), which is waiting for those who are seeking treatment. With 21 pools, it’s health and fun at one: in addition to the spa area, Széchenyi awaits visitors with a swimming pool, a leisure pool and a sitting pool too. They have new complex medical treatments and wellness packages, so totally wort a visit. It's also open from 6 am to 8 pm and cost 6000/6200 Forint.

Római Beach

Római is a beautiful, Roman-designed beach in the outskirt of the city with three pools, saunas, water slides and beautiful environment. Even the Romans had a bathing facility in this area thousands of years ago. It only has uncovered, summer pools, so it opens in the first days of June, but the environment will compensate anybody. It costs 2500/2800 Forint and it's open from 9 am to 8 pm in the summer season.

Aquaworld Aquapark

They do not call this aquapark a “water empire” by chance: all that we can image can be found here. The waterpark offers exciting adventure and fun with 15 outdoor an indoor pools and 11 (a total of nearly 1 km long) slides both summer and winter. The place is equipped with everything: there are jacuzzis, saunas, a wave pool, a surfing pool and a playhouse as well. It costs 6490 Forint

and it's open from 6 am to 10 pm.
