Preparation to be Together for an Unknown Period of Time won Gold Hugo on the 56th Chicago International Film Festival.
Films of Hungarian directors are performing very well in the recent years, and now we have another award. And by „we” I mean, Lili Horvát, who got one of the main prizes, Gold Hugo of Chicago International Film Festival with her new film “Preparation to be Together for an Unknown Period of Time”. As the jury's reasoned, Gold Hugo went to Horvát:
“For her captivating love story, in which she examines the thin boundaries between love, obsession and madness through the mysteries of the brains and souls of two neurosurgeons. For her honest, empathetic portrayal of a woman in a captivating performance by Natasa Stork. For its rich, deep colors, subtle cutouts, timeless visual style, highlighted by the use of 35mm film”.
By the way, this is not the first international award of Horvát’s new film: it won the Fipresci Prize of the International Federation of Film Critics at the Warsaw International Film Festival, and the film’s protagonist, Natasa Stork became Best Actress at the Antalya International Film Festival. Congratulations!
