Heart of downtown Budapest

The heart of downtown is beating again. Welcoming crowd, culture, fun and the refreshing scent of lawn in the centre of the fifth district – this is Erzsébet Square (Erzsébet tér).

Thousands of squaremetres have been completely renovated in one of Budapest's busiest points. From the 30th of March everything is open for you. You name it, you can do it here. Let's see some examples!

Business makes you hungry, right? How about a fine lunch between two appointments in the brand new Terminál Restaurant and Gastroshop in the building of Design Terminál? Something delicious and sustaining to give you fresh energy till the end of the day. Of couse, don't forget to drink your usual coffee! Or do you prefer tea?

After that you can check your e-mails or share your status on the internet from one of the nice comfortable benches. Or lie down somewhere on the five thousand squaremetres of lawn. Enjoy the sunshine, or discreetly hide in the shades!

After a hard but succesful day a little chilling out in the sunset would be nice, right? How about some fine, cool wine with sparkling water at Fröccsterasz? A great refreshing 'fröccs' with dry white wine from the mountain of Badacsony (the north side of lake Balaton) is waiting for you!

What about your night? In the seductive and intense night life of Budapest you simply can't go to bed early, right? So choose a nice shirt and just come down to Erzsébet Square. The whole place is a big party from late afternoon until the morning. (And it's only early spring, imagine the hot summer nights.) It's like a huge outdoor club. Start with another light drink made of wine at Fröccsterasz, then go downstairs to Akvárium Klub, a place with matchless atmosphere. Pep things up with the great live music and some hard drink – of course in reason. How about the Hungarian king of spirits: pálinka? Sounds good, right?

Bring down your friends, or make new ones at any spot of the place. Everybody's out here. If you can't bring your friends, you won't be alone. Just find your company! It's easy there. As you could have read it, they call this square the hart of downtown. Which district is the heart of the city. Which city is a great big beating heart itself: Budapest.

How to get here? Three of the Budapest metro lines (M1, M2 and M3) can easily bring you here, just get off elegantly at Deák Ferenc square (Deák Ferenc tér) station, listen to your insticts and follow the sound of the party! You can't miss it!
