Heartwarming video about Hungary
Posted by Ágnes Taraszovics · Apr 22, 2016

The biggest successes, the biggest inventions, people we are really proud of. A video that conquered the world.

Feel free to accuse us of local patriotism after this article, but we have to show this gorgeous video. In the almost four minute long short film there is everything, why it is so good to live here and to whom we are most proud of from the past centuries.

Maybe you know about the Vitamin C, Rubik’s Cube and Zsa Zsa Gabor, but there are much more than that. Some of the most famous Hungarian inventions are the safety match (János Irinyi), the first electric motor (Ányos Jedlik), the first nuclear reactor (Leo Szilard), Rubik's cube (Ernő Rubik), the ballpoint pen (László Bíró), Vitamin-C (Albert Szent-Györgyi), the hydrogen bomb (Edward Teller) and digital computing (John von Neumann).

Ferenc Puskás is regarded as one of the greatest soccer players of all times, Ferenc Liszt’s rhapsodies are known worldwide, Kodály method is the most widely used in music education, the famous newspaper publisher and journalist József Pulitzer was also Hungarian, not to mention last year’s Academy Award winner film, Son of Saul.

Watch, wonder and learn!
