Some of the most famous Hungarian inventions are the safety match (János Irinyi), the first electric motor (Ányos Jedlik), the first nuclear reactor (Leo Szilard), Rubik's cube (Ernő Rubik), the ballpoint pen (László Bíró), Vitamin-C (Albert Szent-Györgyi), the hydrogen bomb (Edward Teller) and digital computing (John von Neumann).
Ferenc Puskás is regarded as one of the greatest soccer players of all times, Ferenc Liszt’s rhapsodies are known worldwide, Kodály method is the most widely used in music education, the famous newspaper publisher and journalist József Pulitzer was also Hungarian, not to mention last year’s Academy Award winner film, Son of Saul.
